BI 22X - Principles of Biology

This syllabus is designed the Honors laboratory section of BI 221, taught in-person in Fall of 2023. Assignments balance weekly lab investigations into key principles of microbiology and biochemistry with a term-long Course-Based Undergraduate Research Project (CURE) on nematodes.
The following video, from "The Ameoeba Sisters" on YouTube, is a good example of content suitable for in-person, hybrid, or online education in biology. These funny and approachable animated videos provide a good introduction to gel electrophoresis - a key technique used for the nematode CURE project.
